Giving Back to the City That Raised Us
Founded in 2013 by nine passionate individuals from Nashik, our NGO—now supported by over 50 families—was born from a shared commitment to give back to the city that shaped our lives. We believe that true prosperity lies in uplifting those around us, especially the underserved communities of Nashik.
Our work spans across multiple areas
- Education: Free books, stationery, and classroom support for children in slums.
- Healthcare: Regular medical camps and services in underprivileged areas.
- Basic Needs: Distribution of food, clothing, and shelter for the needy.
- Livelihood: Skill-building initiatives to empower people with employment opportunities.
Nashik is not just our hometown—it’s our heart. As the city grows, so does our responsibility to ensure that its development is inclusive, compassionate, and sustainable. Through our work, we aim to return to Nashik the warmth, love, and support that it has given us.

At Goonj Foundation Nashik, our approach is rooted in dignity, not charity. We believe that the people we serve are not passive recipients of aid, but active stakeholders in their own development. That’s why we listen first — understanding local needs through close community engagement — and then co-create solutions that are relevant, respectful, and sustainable. Whether it’s transforming urban surplus into school kits, dignity kits, or resources for cloth-for-work initiatives, we ensure that every act of giving empowers rather than imposes. We don’t just provide help; we build long-term partnerships with schools, villages, and institutions, enabling them to reclaim agency and thrive. Our model values empathy over pity, participation over handouts, and impact that goes beyond the immediate.
